007 Squirtle

Day 7 complete, and that ends Week 1!

I'm really happy with my progress so far. I've definitely gotten *much* faster at sketching the initial outline, and I'm starting to understand colours and shadows a bit better. I'd love to start painting colours on, but I'm not sure how to even approach that... more learning to do, I guess.

I struggled with proportions, again; I ended up lassoing a few parts of the drawing to get them to where I wanted them. I'm hoping that sketching more technical works such as still lifes will help me get a better sense of how big I should be drawing things.

I also had problems with the hslle lines, but they turned out okay I think 🙂

Back to work tomorrow and I'd like to do more technical work, so I might have to start uploading outlines only again for a bit. We'll see.
